SAFETY KIT DISTRIBUTION
FOR CONSTRUCTION WORKERS
SUMMER AND SAFETY KIT DISTRIBUTION- Construction is one of the most dangerous industries to work in. In 2020, this industry experienced the most workplace deaths. Luckily, there are many innovations that help make construction a safer industry. The safety kits help in many ways to avert such possible mishaps by making the employees visible. High visibility clothing also significantly reduces the likelihood of accidents. While this safety clothing will not completely prevent every accident, it makes construction sites an all-around safer place to work.
When your employees feel safer at work, they will also be more productive and have better morale. This means you will get your work done faster and more efficiently as a result of your improved working conditions!
In most cases of accidents happening at construction site, it is the head that is injured due to falling. The helmet shall help in protecting for any such situation.
Levellers Foundation team visited Centre Point Foods factory project in Butibori in summer 2024 to engage with the construction workers in understanding their needs, interacting with them and providing them with safety and summer essentials to protect them from accidents and heat.
WINTER AND SAFETY KIT DISTRIBUTION- Construction workers are exposed to hazards during the cold weather on sites. A few like slipping, sliding, skidding, crashing etc. due to the frozen surfaces. Increased medical condition due to these hazards are hypothermia, loss of dexterity, frostbites, loss of alertness, etc.
These hazards impact the people in the vicinity and the co workers of the affected.
The architects provided awareness emphasizing on the construction hazards faced from day to day followed by the mentorship provided to ensure safety of the site. The mentorship provided by the doctors encompassed the health precautions the workers can take individually to prevent any major health fall on site as well and off site. The awareness created around safety and health measures for the workers was followed by the distribution of the winter kits curated by the levellers foundation. The winter kit consisted of hand gloves, mufflers, socks, ear muffs, a winter cap, a safety kit consisting of a helmet and a reflective jacket, along with a Vicks vapour rub.
